Woman is victim of sexual assault

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was the victim of a sexual assault in Thornbury.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Friday, April 4, but was not reported to police until Monday, April 21. Police have only just released the information.

The 21-year-old local woman was walking through the underpass near Morton Way, Thornbury, which links Primrose Drive and Osprey Park.

As she walked through the underpass, the woman was approached by an unknown man who then sexually assaulted her before making off.

He is described as having a skinny build, body odour, large hands and a local Bristolian accent.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time or may have seen anyone acting suspiciously.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
